Emotional Intelligence Workshop

Around 300 students actively participated in the session, which aimed at helping students build interpersonal relationships. Dr. Seema Sharma conducted the workshop. She talked about issues faced by the students as well as their solutions. Overall, the session was helpful in understanding the importance of Self-Awareness and Self-Management.

“IITR ko dekha to aisa laga!”

We organized an essay writing competition for the dreamy eyed freshers with the theme of “IITR ko dekha to aisa laga!”.
We received some interesting and well descriptive entries.It was a compilation of their stay at IITR in the very first week, the orientation session, the culture, the expectation and the reality checks by them.

International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

It is well said that “You don’t need heroin to be the hero”. Illegal use of drugs is increasing day by day; both in teenagers and adults. Wellness center, IIT Roorkee, invited speakers with the aim of creating awareness regarding drugs, it’s abuse, and its bad effect on physical as well as mental health.

International Day Of Yoga

Wellness centre, IIT Roorkee, celebrated International Yoga Day in order to spread the benefits of practising yoga among the students, faculties and even the whole world.

Online letter writing event- “A letter to my friend”

 Wellness center, IIT Roorkee, organized an online letter writing competition on the occasion of “International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”. with the theme of spreading awareness about Drugs abuse among the students.

The compition was to write a letter to your loved one who was suffering from drug abuse. The competition saw a huge participation from students .

WORKSHOP ON EFFECTIVE SPEECH

Wellness Center conducted a small speech therapy session for students to help them overcome the fear of speech and deal with problems like stammering, stuttering etc. We strongly believe that one must be facing his fears instead of running away from them and we encourage each and everyone to do so! We are very fortunate to have a speech therapist in our campus.

STRESS MANAGEMENT

An energetic and mind-refreshing workshop was organized by notable motivational speaker Mr. Vivek Bindra via Wellness Center Roorkee which was attended by a huge number of students. Dean of Student Welfare. His sheer presence filled the atmosphere with energy and positivity.
